Sergey Florya
Sergey Florya was born in a northern Russian city Severodvinsk in January, 1984. After graduation from the Pomorsky State Lomonosov University in Arkhangelsk (another northern city of the Russian Federation) with a degree in nuclear physics he moved to Moscow to follow with nuclear date and spectrometry of protons’ and neutrons’ beam as a Junior Research Associate in a famous research institute for theoretical and experimental physics. At that time Sergey was mostly interested in development of an automatic posting system for the proton beam and study of the excitation functions of Pb, W, Ta, Nb, Ni, Fe, Cr, C from protons and heavy ions.
As a Ph.D. Sergey started his work for RosRAO (Radioactive Waste Management Company) in 2010. Since that he was promoted several times after successful management of numerous R&D projects (Development of a small neutron detector; Tritium Separation Facility; Mobile robot of anthropomorphic type; Mobile facility for liquid radioactive waste treatment; Mobile facility for radioactive soil segregation were among them).
Currently Dr. Florya works at RosRAO in position of Deputy Director General for Overseas Businesses and Innovations.
